Welcome!

The mission of the Stanford Solar and Wind Energy Project (SWEP) is to promote and develop renewable energy for Stanford University, while also providing practical career experience for undergraduate and graduate students. SWEP currently has ongoing projects in photovoltaic energy, wind energy, energy monitoring, solar water heating, and energy education. We are also teaching a wind development class in the winter. We welcome anyone to participate in our group and seek to collaborate with other student groups, faculty, university programs and community members.

Through the Stanford University Solar Initiative and other projects, we are committed to bringing solar power to the Stanford campus and spreading knowledge about this incredible renewable resource.

Through our two completed wind projects and others in the works, we are resolved to explore wind resources in the Bay Area and further the installation of wind power. We have also taught a class on wind project development.

From the community education outreach of our EPA-funded program Tape & Scissors to the Sustainability and Energy Dashboard Initiative (SEDI), SWEP engineers do it all.
